Ridi Christie Stakis plans chain of boutique hotels

Ridi Christie Stakis, daughter of the late hotel magnate Sir Reo Stakis, has opened the first of what she claims will be a series of boutique hotels in her first solo hotel venture. The £1.5m luxury Cairn Lodge Hotel has opened in Auchterarder in Perthshire, Scotland.

The 100-year-old property was acquired by Stakis, who oversaw a major refurbishment to convert it into the hotel which now offers 11 bedrooms and the fine dining Capercaillie Restaurant and bar.

“Running a hotel is in my blood and with the Cairn Lodge I’ve certainly found my niche,” said Stakis. This is hopefully the first of many hotels to come, with future plans to carry on my passion for quality boutique hotels like Cairn Lodge and perhaps open in other areas of the UK.

Stakis’ father’s company, The Stakis Group, was one of the largest hotel groups in the UK and was sold to the Hilton Group in 1999 for around £1.2bn.
