Specialist themed interiors company launched in Dubai

A partnership between Dubai-based hotel interiors company, DEPA, and Irish construction company, Mivan, has resulted in the launch of Mivan Depa Contracting LLC, created to offer specialised themed interiors for development and entertainment projects in the Middle East.

Mervyn McCall, Managing Partner & Director of Mivan Limited, says: “DEPA has a fantastic reputation and coupled with Mivan's wealth of international theming experience, we hope to work on mammoth, commercial developments such as Dubailand, and also high-profile museums projects in the region.”

Mivan, based in Antrim, was founded in 1975 and has been a specialist theming contractor for over 15 years, being the biggest single contractor to work on the original build of Euro Disney in Paris. Other clients include Universal Studios, Warner Brothers and Legoland.

DEPA specialises in full scope fit out and furnishing of five-star luxury hotels, yachts and facilities and has a track record of marquee projects which includes the Four Seasons Nile Plaza, Burj Al Arab, Abu Dhabi Conference Palace Hotel, Jumeirah Beach Hotel and Grand Hyatt Dubai.

Highlighting the new company's potential at the time of the launch, Mr. Mohannad Sweid, Managing Partner & CEO of DEPA, says: “It will expand the scope of DEPA to add theming expertise to its high profile specialities. Together with Mivan, DEPA is looking forward to bring a world standard of theming excellence to commercial projects in the Middle East region.”

Since then, Mivan Depa reported an excellent response at the recent Theme Parks & Fun Centres Show (TPFC) held in Dubai. The company already has several projects in its sights and more are in the pipeline.
