20 May 2005 Health club membership growth slows in Germany |
![]() Deloitte has issued its latest analysis of results for the German health and fitness market, showing membership growth of the 15 selected operators has fallen to 3 per cent in the first quarter of 2005, compared to 6 per cent for the same period last year. Non-franchised clubs experienced a 2 per cent decrease in growth compared to 6 per cent the previous year, with three new openings and two club closings. Meanwhile, franchised clubs saw a 4 per cent decrease compared to 7 per cent the previous year with six new openings in the first quarter of 2005, but no club closings. Close Window |
