Designs revealed for New York's Freedom Tower

Following initial concerns regarding security, New York officials have unveiled revised plans for the Freedom Tower – a 1,776 ft (540m) tall skyscraper to be built on the World Trade Center site.

Designed by architect David Childs and developed by Silverstein Properties, the tower is meant to evoke the style of the Chrysler and Empire State buildings and will feature 69 floors of office space, topped with restaurants and an observation deck.

Building is due to be completed in 2010. Details: www.renewnyc.com
