Met completes £4.6 revamp

The Principal Hotels Group has completed a 10-month, £4.6m refurbishment of its 120-room hotel in Leeds.

The four-star property, formerly named The Metropole, has been relaunched as The Met Leeds Hotel and will be operated by a newly-created management team led by general manager Sarah Whitfield.

“The changes at the Met Leeds are far-reaching and it is not just a refurbishment,” Whitfield said.

“We have completed a total transformation and repositioning and we want to encourage conference bookers as well as leisure customers to take a look at the new Met.”

The work on the Grade II-listed building included the redesign of the interior spaces and the upgrade of 100 en-suite bedrooms as well as the renovation of eight conference rooms and reception area.

Principal Hotels operates six hotels in the UK, including the Hotel Russell in London.
