15 Nov 2005 Jumeirah hotel for Beetham tower? |
![]() The Beetham Organisation’s proposed £500m, 68-storey tower at London’s Blackfriars will feature a luxury hotel to be operated by Jumeirah International, according to Estates Gazette. Beetham has reportedly signed a 30-year management contract with Jumeirah, the operator of Dubai’s Burj al Arab hotel. A spokesperson for Beetham however, said that the company had not yet agreed a management contract for the tower’s hotel. The Liverpool-based developer submitted plans for a mixed-use tower – to include a 440,000sq ft (40,900sq m), six-star hotel – to Southwark Council this summer. The proposed building has been designed by Ian Simpson Architects and features a curved glass tower, anticipated to become one of London’s most recognisable landmarks.
