Dark Star Scotland enters administration
BY Pete Hayman

Tenon Recovery has been appointed to oversee the running of Dark Star Scotland, one of Scotland's largest restaurant, bar and hotel operators, after the Glasgow-based company entered administration.

Kenny Craig and Tom MacLennon of the London-based insolvency firm have been appointed as joint administrators at the company, which operates 14 leased premises in the west of Scotland, including the Budda Bar chain.

Craig said: "While not immune from the recent economic downturn, the units were performing relatively well and we are confident that the business will appeal to companies already operating in the licensed trade, or to entrepreneurs keen to enter the sector."

Dark Star Scotland, which is part of the McKever Group (MG), will continue to trade as normal and is expected to be marketed as a going concern. MG's McKever Hotels, which operates properties across Scotland and north-east England, has also recently entered administration.
