![]() Gold’s Gym is on target to open 1,000 franchised clubs by the end of 2010, thanks to investment in new technology and the appointment of industry experts. The company signed deals to open 76 health and fitness clubs in 2005 and now has more than 620 gyms in 27 countries. Such growth has earned it a ranking of 76 in Entrepreneur magazine’s Franchise 500 listing – up 68 places from last year, as well as being ranked 64th in America’s Top Global Franchises list. The company has invested heavily in new technology and has also appointed industry veterans Paul Summers and Jamie Nelson, who have 34 years of club management experience between them, to help drive the growth.
