Brazilian rollout for GO! franchise
The express fitness concept, GO! 30 Minute Workout, has sold its first two franchises in Curitiba, Brazil, as part of ambitious plans to open 25 sites in the country this year.
Founded by John Kersh, IHRSA’s former director of international development, the company launched its first site in Sao Paulo in August 2005.
Marcello Lage, a veteran health club operator from Belo Horizonte, is responsible for the overall operations of the Brazilian business. “With GO! we have improved the key management systems and dramatically lowered the cost of owning a gym,” he said.
The Brazilian expansion is part of a wider programme of development, which should see 400 GO! health and fitness clubs throughout Latin America by 2010.
