![]() A partnership between developers and a medical centre in New York, US, has resulted in a new fitness model. Island Health and Fitness Centre was developed by Community Corners and the Cayuga Medical Center. The 35,000sq ft (3,250sq m) facility will offer fitness as well as a day spa and GP services. It is part of the 65,000sq ft (6,000sq m) Island Health Centre – Cayuga Medical Center’s new outpatient physical therapy and rehabilitation department. “Patients can move from physical therapy or cardiac rehab to workout prescription in a supervised setting, for lasting lifestyle changes as their health improves,” said John Winslow, Cayuga’s director of outpatient rehabilitation.
