![]() UK arrivals to Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires, Argentina, have increased by more than 17.3 per cent in 2005 – around 7,000 more travellers than in 2004. Britons are now the second-most frequent visitors after Brazilians. In 2005, UK tourists stayed for an average 15.4 days compared with the international average of 12.2 days, and 66.9 per cent stayed in four- or five-star hotels. The Argentinian government claimed that the recent increase in UK tourists was a direct result of its recent Tourism Argentina campaign in Britain as well as the £1.7bn (2.5bn euro, US$3bn) invested in the sector.
