15 Aug 2006 Jumeirah set to open second London hotel |
![]() Hotel group Jumeirah is set to open an 87-bedroom hotel in London’s Belgravia in November, a sister property to one of the world’s most luxurious hotels, the Burj Al Arab in Dubai. The £8m Jumeirah Lowndes Hotel has been designed by UK-based Hunt Hamilton Zuch to target local residents and tourists as well as business travellers. Four one-bedroom Executive Suites are being created on the exclusive sixth floor, two of which will have balconies overlooking Belgravia, while a further Luxury Suite will boast one bedroom and two bathrooms. All bedrooms will boast bathroom products supplied by Temple Spa, a skin and body care range which takes its inspiration from the Mediterranean. The Mediterranean theme will be continued in the hotel’s food and beverage offering, with the 62-capacity Mimosa Bar & Restaurant. The new hotel is located close to Jumeirah’s existing London property, Jumeirah Carlton Tower, which boasts the Rib Room & Oyster Bar and Peak Health Club and Spa – which Lowndes Hotel guests will be able to use.
