Mövenpick Hotel Amsterdam opens

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts (MH&R) has opened a four-star establishment called the Mövenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre in the Netherlands.

The 408-room hotel, designed by Dutch architect Claus en Kaan, is entirely non-smoking and is primarily aimed at business travellers.

More than 900sq m (9,700sq ft) of conference facilities are available for up to 600 guests and the adjacent 3,000sq m (32,300sq ft) Passenger Terminal Amsterdam offers further event space.

Additional facilities include a restaurant with a terrace and bar as well as a health centre with a fitness room, sauna, solarium, sanarium and ice fountain.

MH&R – owned by Mövenpick Holding and Kingdom Group – aims to extend its portfolio to 100 hotels by 2010.
