£160,000 upgrade for Oswaldtwistle park
BY Pete Hayman

Rhyddings Park in Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, is set to be transformed as part of a £160,000 scheme to improve facilities, which is being carried out by Hyndburn Borough Council (HBC).

Paths, drainage and the park's bowling green are undergoing work as the result of a partnership between the council and the Friends of Rhyddings Park, which drew up a "Top 10 hit list" of required work.

HBC leader Peter Britcliffe said: "By working with the Friends of Rhyddings Park, we have been able to secure the £160,000 needed to bring about these long awaited improvements to the paths, drainage and bowling green in the park.

"It's a real boost to the park and the community and just goes to show what can be achieved by working together."
