The cream of British talent launches parkour workshop

SHOKK, The Youth Activity People, have recruited Britain's Got Talent semi-finalist and dynamic Parkour specialist Brad Wendes to launch a new free-running workshop - SHOKK Parkour. SHOKK National trainer Brad will head up the delivery of the latest addition to The SHOKK 'Earn Your Stripes' educational training pathway.

Parkour, meaning the 'art of movement', is often described as urban acrobatics and combines running with gymnastics. It has grown very popular with young people, appearing in recent Hollywood movies and is now being delivered in schools as part of the National Curriculum.

Usually practiced in both rural and urban areas, professional traceur (Parkour practitioner) Brad Wendes, one of the founding members of the British Parkour Coaching Association, will instruct teachers, coaches and fitness professionals in the grace and flow of Parkour safely indoors with the use of foam blocks and heavy duty crash mats.

SHOKK offers the widest range of youth specific qualifications, CPD training courses, workshops and learning resources available across the UK. Split into three stages of development, the three stripes process allows learners to expand their skill level and earn their stripes as they complete each stage. SHOKK Parkour will sit within Stripe Two, which progresses skills and evolves the programming and session aspect - it already offers a choice of 12 group exercise workshops (REPS accredited) which include Break-dance and Kombat.

Kieran Murphy, SHOKK marketing director, commented: "As experts in youth activity SHOKK seeks to introduce the latest activity solutions to boost our customer development. SHOKK Parkour is a great addition to our Stripe Two training programme as well as fresh and motivational discipline which is both enjoyable and highly beneficial for young people."
