BHA chief executive joins board of International Hotel and Restaurant Association

Bob Cotton, chief executive of the British Hospitality Association (BHA), has joined the board of directors of the Paris-based International Hotel and Restaurant Association (IH&RA).

Founded in 1946, the IH&RA is the only business organisation representing the hospitality industry worldwide

Its members consist of a number of national hotel and restaurant associations throughout the world, and international and national hotel and restaurant chains representing some 50 brands.

Cotton said: “As the British government is taking the lead on environmental issues, the British hospitality industry needs to have a voice in the IH&RA.”

He added, “We are already a keen supporter of two European associations – FERCO, which represents contract caterers, and HOTREC, which represents hotels and restaurants.

“The IH&RA represents hotels and restaurants internationally and I’m sure we can make a real contribution to its discussions.”
