![]() A new entertainment centre is under construction in Astana – the capital of Kazakhstan. The 100,000sq m (1,077,000sq ft) tent-like structure – called Khan Shatyry – will house an entertainment venue for events and exhibitions, 40,000sq m (430,550sq ft) of retail space and cafés, restaurants and cinemas. A tropical water park featuring wave pools, a river and a waterfall lit by roof lights will weave through landscaped gardens, overlooked by a viewing deck. Sembol Construction will develop the project, designed by Foster + Partners in collaboration with Linea Tusavul Architecture and Gultekin Architecture.
