Russian palace estate to gain spa resort

A luxury resort and spa is to be built within the 19th century Vyazemsky palace estate, situated 10km north-west of St Petersburg in Russia.

The Vyazemsky Estate resort and spa will open at the end of 2009 and is being developed by Russian company KURS.

Endeli Limited has been appointed as the spa consultant for the project.

Spa construction will cost an estimated 25m euro (£16.9m, US$33.4m) while the total spa area will be around 32,291sq ft (3,000sq m).

The spa will have 25 treatment rooms with other facilities including two indoor swimming pools, thermal areas and fitness studios.

Endeli has also revealed plans for a baths centre in a separate building on the lake and an outdoor swimming pool.

The Vyazemsky estate is located within a parkland area of 120 hectares – which includes four natural lakes – in the village of Osinovaya Roscha in the Vyborgsky administrative district of St Petersburg.
