July debut for Bauer Palladio Venice spa

A 2m euro (US$2.6m, £1.34m) spa will open at the Bauer Palladio Hotel in Venice, Italy, this July.

The 4,305sq ft (400sq m) spa will be located in the east wing of the hotel, opposite the main entrance. It will have eight treatment rooms while other facilities will include a lounge, a hammam and a sauna.

The spa will use Daniela Steiner products and signature treatments will include a herbal massage, a four-hands massage and a shirodhara experience.

The spa’s décor will be similar to the hotel’s and will retain many of the original features of the building, which used to be a convent.

The building that houses the hotel and spa was designed in 1500 by the Renaissance architect Andrea Palladio.

Located on Giudecca Island, the hotel is part of the Leading Hotels of the World group. It has a total of 38 guest rooms and 12 suites with lagoon views. (See Spa Business 07/01 p17. To order, visit www.spabusiness.com)
