The Children's Museum of Virginia (CMVA) in Portsmouth, US, is undergoing a US$9m (£5.7m) expansion project. Funded by museum's foundation and the City of Portsmouth, the expansion will add 12,000sq ft (1,115sq m) to the building, bringing it up to 36,000sq ft (3,345sq m). The first floor will be geared to 0 to 6-year-olds and focuses on role-play in a town environment. The second floor has been developed around three themes: science, the environment and art. The CMVA is due reopen next spring. Close Window |
