01 Sep 2010 New skate/BMX park for Dorking BY Luke Tuchscherer |
A new skate/BMX park has opened at Meadowbank recreation park in Dorking. The new facilities, comprising a skate and BMX area, aerial swing and half court basketball/football area, have been funded by Mole Valley District Council and the Big Lottery Fund. The new facilities have been designed with the help of a group of local children. The group worked to design a challenging park with a unique feature: the 'Dorking Gap'. This is a gap in the transition ramp between the two layers of the skate park. It can be jumped in many different ways, and cannot be found anywhere else in the country. Close Window |
