Busch Gardens opens Griffon dive ride

The Busch Gardens Europe theme park in Williamsburg, Virginia, US, has opened a new roller coaster ride to the public.

The Griffon dive coaster drops riders 205ft (62m) at a 90-degree angle, while reaching speeds of up to 75 mph. It features two Immelmann loops.

Each floorless coaster train comprises three rows of ten seats, with the outer seats extending away from the track.

General manager Donnie Mills said: “It’s the perfect addition to our park. Griffon is the coaster on everyone’s list to ride in 2007.”

Operator Anheuser-Busch Adventure Park is also opening a new SeaWorld water park in Orlando, Florida, US, next spring. Details: www.griffoncoaster.com
