Dial proposes water park

Dial Family Resorts is one step closer to developing a US$100m (£50,416m, 74,340m euro) indoor water park in West Warwick, Rhode Island, New England, US.

If approved by West Warwick Town Council, the 65,000sq ft (6,040sq m) Shipwreck Falls adventure resort would comprise an indoor water park featuring a wave pool, tubing ride and lazy river, as well as water forts, nine slides and an outdoor pool, surrounded by family accommodation.

The nautically themed facility would also comprise 28,000sq ft (2,600sq m) of convention space, a restaurant, a family dinner theatre and a fitness centre.

Last week, the redevelopment plans passed the first reading of ordinance by the town council.

If a final approval, the Nebraskan developer plans to start work on site later this year, with completion expected in 2009.

The company also plans to open a new Coyote Falls Lodge resort in Sandusky, Ohio, US, in spring 2008. Details: www.dialfamilyresorts.com
