New director for Woodland Trust Scotland
BY Pete Hayman

Woodland Trust Scotland (WTS) has confirmed that Carol Evans, former director of the National Autistic Society Scotland, has been named as its new director.

Evans took up the role on 1 September and joined the organisation as it launched a drive to increase native tree planting across the country as part of its More Trees, More Good campaign.

Woodland Trust chief executive Sue Holden said: "We welcome Carol to the Woodland Trust, we have great plans for the future and Carol will play a key role in making these happen in Scotland."

Evans added: "The Woodland Trust has set out its ambition to double native woodland cover over the next fifty years; this ambition is matched by the Scottish Government."
