At.mosphere restaurant opens at Burj Khalifa

Emaar Hospitality Group (EHG) has opened a restaurant on the 122nd floor of the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa in Dubai, UAE.

Marketed as the "highest restaurant in the world", the At.mosphere has been designed by South African Adam Tihany and diners access the restaurant using a private lift.

Although EHG has not revealed the exact height of the location of the 122nd floor, marketing material states that it is located at a height of "more than 400m".

This would make At.mosphere the tallest restaurant in the world, beating previous record holder, the revolving 360 restaurant at the CN Tower in Toronto, Canada (351m).

However, at 400m Atmosphere has some way to beating the record for the highest location of a restaurant. The Galaxy Restaurant in Nepal is located at 2,194m in the Himalayas, while even the UK's highest restaurant is located at 1,085m – at the peak of Snowdon, Wales.
