First Chinese resort for Six Senses

Six Senses Resorts & Spas is to open its first resort in China - Six Senses Qing Cheng Mountain, a Botanic Sanctuary property - in 2013.

With its commitment to social and ecological responsibility, the company will be sourcing all building materials for the project locally where possible, and from natural, sustainable sources.

The resort's development - similar to that at all the Six Senses projects - will be following guidelines aimed at achieving LEED certification.

Qing Cheng Mountain in Sichuan is a UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage site and an area of great historical importance in Taoist history. The concept of the resort - at the foot of the mountain and surrounded by woodland and waterfalls - will embrace Taoist and Chinese architecture and design principals.

As at every Six Senses resort, a Six Senses Spa will be provided, offering signature Asian treatments along with those inspired by the immediate area.
