The experience will feature one of the world's highest full-circle walks on a 1.5m (5ft)-wide ledge that encircles the top of the tower's main pod.

According to CN Tower officials, the attraction has been designed with the "utmost safety and security in mind" and will provide an experience lasting a total of 1.5 hours.

The walk will last between 20-30 minutes and visitors will be subjected to height and weight requirements. Guests will be attached to an overhead rail via a trolley and harness system.

Mark Laroche, the president and chief executive officer of tower owner and operator Canada Lands Company, said: "We think it's fitting that Toronto's newest attraction in 18 years should be at the city's most defining landmark.

"EdgeWalk is both thrilling and unique and will push visitors to their limits - literally and figuratively. This will be among Toronto's, if not the world's, greatest attractions."

CN Tower chief operating officer Jack Robinson added: "Our facilities and engineering team supervised the EdgeWalk project design and build to ensure that it is both exciting and safe."
