Buraimi sports complex agreement signed

Oman sports affairs minister Ali bin Masoud al Sunaidy has signed a OMR1.4m (£2.3m, EUR2.6m, US$3.6m) contract for a new sports facility in the governorate of Al Buraimi.
Al Hashmi and Al Rows Trading and Contracting Company has secured the deal to build the new 15,500-capacity complex, which will comprise a football stadium and offices.
A multi-purpose hall for volleyball, handball and basketball with 750 seats is also planned, along with a 10-lane Olympic-sized swimming pool with 1,000 spectator seats.
Changing rooms and service facilities are also earmarked as part of the development, work on which is due to commence on 11 September.
