Investor brothers acquire Mayflower Inn and Spa

Investor Alan Kanders and his brother Warren Kanders have taken over the ownership of the luxury Mayflower Inn & Spa in Litchfield Hills, Connecticut, US.

Famous for its destination spa and gourmet restaurant, the boutique hotel offers accommodation in 30 design-led bedrooms and is a member of the prestigious Relais & Châteaux chain of hotels.

Alan Kanders, who is a principal of New York-based Three Wall Capital, said: "I am excited to build upon the Mayflower's iconic reputation. Investing in the property to grow our business and further enhance it overall, will be a priority."

The 20,000sq ft spa is housed in a separate building within the 58-acre estate overlooking a natural pond.

Facilities include a number of treatment rooms, hammam, an indoor swimming pool, spa pool, relaxation areas and a health and fitness club with four exercise studios.

The spa's signature treatment is the 90-minute Mayflower Stonecrop and Rose Facial and the menu includes a number of other facials as well as body scrubs, wraps, massages and therapeutic baths.

A full salon menu - boating manicures, pedicures, nails and hair removal - is also on offer.

The current management team at the Mayflower, lead by general manager John Trevenen who joined the property in 1992, will remain in place.
