Precor kit for sites in Rochdale and Cambridge

Matthew Moss High School in Rochdale has recently seen the completion of a new extension and a 112sq m, Precor-equipped gym, part of a £9.1m refurbishment.

The work on the new gym is part of a major Building Schools for the Future redevelopment project led by Rochdale Metropolitan Borough Council which started in July 2010; completion is expected by Easter 2012.

The school's previous gym has been refurbished into a Learning Resource Centre, along with IT and conference rooms.

The old conference room, which was part of the sports hall, has been transformed into a fitness suite and kitted out with the latest Precor Experience Series range including Adaptive Motion trainers (AMT's), treadmills and bikes, all featuring the new P80 console, along with an Icarian FTS glide strength machine.

Funds to buy the equipment were raised through external letting of the school's 4G Astroturf pitches and the sports hall to local clubs such as Rochdale AFC and Rochdale Junior Netball Club.

Elsewhere, Precor kit was also specified for the refurbishment of the fitness facility at Cottenham Sports Centre, north of Cambridge.

The 18sq m fitness suite has seen the provision of new air conditioning, redecoration and fresh carpet and features a range of new Precor cv equipment.

Included are treadmills, an Adaptive Motion Trainer, recumbent and upright bikes, and crosstrainers, all featuring Precor's Cardio Theater.

Five stations from Precor's S-Line dual strength range and an Icarian FTS Glide and Superbench have also been installed.
