Social enterprises to run Bridgend facilities
BY Pete Hayman

Halo and Greenwich Leisure have been selected to run leisure facilities owned by Bridgend County Borough Council (BCBC) for up to 15 years, with effect from 1 April 2012.

The local authority will retain ownership of the leisure centres and swimming pools as part of the deal, which also includes a major investment in Bridgend Recreation Centre.

BCBC leader Mel Nott said: "I believe we will see a big difference in our centres and pools and this will support our ongoing work to improve the health and wellbeing of our residents."
