Students to benefit from GBP2m casino overhaul
BY Pete Hayman

Students from Warwickshire and Hinckley College are to benefit from the completion of an extensive £2m refurbishment of Rainbow Casino in Birmingham, West Midlands.

A new scheme has launched to offer students an introduction to the sector through a gaming academy; apprenticeship opportunities; and job openings upon completion of courses.

Rainbow Casino has established the link with the college after expanding its facilities, with a further project to refresh its in-house Clarendon restaurant to be carried out in April.

Casino director Hui Lam said: "We are keen to move people away from the negative connotations associated with casinos and gambling and show the unique packages on offer here at Rainbow Casino.

"Our links with the college have also allowed us to give back to the local community and encourage enthusiasm from students in the area, while educating them on how the industry works and providing valuable vocational experience for their future careers."
