![]() Image: The funding will help increase participation Australian sport minister Kate Lundy has announced increased funding in order to boost participation among young people from culturally diverse backgrounds across the country. The Multicultural Youth Sports Partnership Program will make AU$300,000 (US$308,000, EUR234,000, £190,000) available to support the costs associated with promoting sport in multi-cultural communities. Eligible organisations are now able to apply for grants worth up to AU$50,000 (US$51,000, EUR39,000, £32,000) towards creating sustainable opportunities for young people in local communities. Lundy said: "Sport is a great platform for inclusion and can help build bridges of understanding and respect. "All Australians should have equal access to sporting opportunities and this grant programme helps to ensure more young Australians from diverse backgrounds can participate in sport."
