Pulse Fitness has been appointed by Magherafelt District Council (MDC) to manage the new-look Greenvale Leisure Centre in Northern Ireland, which is undergoing a major refurbishment.

The centre is due to open this summer following the completion of the multi-million pound scheme, with facilities to include a new 50m swimming pool and a 100-station fitness suite.

A kids' circuit gym and interactive fitness zone; a four-court sports hall and squash courts; and a soft play area will also form part of the centre, along with a spa area.

The spa area will contain a thermal suite housing a steamroom; an ice station; a sauna; and an experience shower, in addition to a foot spa, heated loungers and a relaxation zone.

Among Pulse's initial priorities after securing the contract will be to recruit 50 staff members to oversee the management of the facility and to deliver its programme of activities.

MDC director of leisure Andrew Cassells said: "Appointing Pulse to operate the centre enables us to invest and improve our resources in other key leisure facilities within Magherafelt."
