London Assembly member criticises Olympic Park 'lock out'

London Assembly member John Biggs has criticised the "unacceptable" delay in opening up the entire Olympic Park to members of the public, following this summer's Games.
Last week, the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) announced details of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park's unveiling - starting with part of the North Park in summer 2013.
However, the phased programme means the South Plaza - the area comprising the ArcelorMittal Orbit attraction and the Aquatics Centre among others - will not open to the public until Easter 2014.
Biggs said: "While I welcome the redevelopment plans, this long delay in opening the Olympic Park after the games is simply unacceptable.
"I will be calling on the Mayor and his Development Corporation to review their decision as I am sure an incremental opening would be possible."
