Image: StreetGames supports projects across the UK UK sports charity StreetGames has secured £150,000 of funding through Sport England's Sportsmatch programme to match grants from Coca-Cola Great Britain and Network Rail. The charity launched in 2007 with the aim of increasing participation in disadvantaged areas in the UK by supporting "doorstep" projects that create opportunities for young people. StreetGames CEO Jane Ashworth said: "It is wonderful that Sportsmatch has chosen to match the funding of our existing partners. "It shows that they recognise the importance of ensuring the opportunity and benefits around sport area available particularly to those from disadvantaged areas and that they see the remarkable progress we have already made in delivering this." Sport England chair Richard Lewis added: "Whether it is volunteering or participating, it is crucial that we get as many young people involved in grassroots sports and StreetGames is helping us achieve this."
