11 Jun 2012 Local authority agrees 'one-off' cash boost for Portland leisure centre BY Pete Hayman |
Weymouth and Portland Borough Council (WPBC) has agreed a "one-off" cash injection worth £82,000 for Osprey Leisure Centre in Portland, Dorset. The funding is being made available towards improvement plans over the next five years and will help plug a £213,000 deficit in the facility's current capital capital plans budget. Osprey Leisure Centre - managed by South Dorset Community Sports Trust since 2007 - will benefit from investment in disability access and general improvements to the building. WPBC brief holder for community facilities Andy Blackwood said: "It is excellent news the borough council has been able to offer this funding to the leisure centre trust."
