20 Jun 2012 Down Arts Centre officially reopens following £1.4m redevelopment BY Pete Hayman |
Down Arts Centre in Downpatrick, Northern Ireland, has celebrated its official reopening following the completion of a £1.4m refurbishment and extension. The Arts Council of Northern Ireland (ACNI), Northern Ireland Tourist Board and Down District Council funded the project, which has created more space for the centre's activities. ACNI invested more than £600,000 as part of a pledge to improve arts infrastructure, which aims to ensure each person is within 20 miles (32km) of a dedicated arts facility.
