London 2012 Festival kicks off

The three-month London 2012 Festival - a nationwide programme of cultural events designed to celebrate the Olympic and Paralympic Games - will begin later today (21 June).
The series of events marks the culmination of the four-year Cultural Olympiad, which began in 2008 and has seen 18 million people take part in arts and cultural events throughout the UK.
London 2012 Festival will run until 9 September - the last day of the London 2012 Paralympic Games. For more information on the schedule of events, visit www.festival.london2012.com.
