21 Jun 2012 Inclusive Fitness Initiative accreditation for Cirencester leisure centre BY Pete Hayman |
A leisure centre in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, has become the latest facility to be awarded Inclusive Fitness Initiative (IFI) accreditation in recognition of its gym's accessibility. Cotswold Leisure Cirencester features a 1,300sq ft (121sq m) gym area housing 60 stations from London 2012 supplier Technogym, as well as a free weights and a stretch area. English Federation of Disability Sport chair Charles Reed said: "I am extremely impressed by the inclusive nature of the fitness suite, changing rooms, reception and catering facilities." IFI is a nationwide programme that supports the health and fitness sector in becoming more inclusive and increasing participation. There are around 400 IFI-accredited gyms in the UK.
