Serco confirmed as Shropshire Council's leisure management partner

Serco is to operate five leisure centres across Shropshire after being confirmed as the local authority's new leisure management partner under a 10-year agreement.
Shropshire Council has appointed the leisure services provider, working as managing agent to Shropshire Community Leisure Trust, to run venues including Oswestry Leisure Centre.
The deal also covers Market Drayton Swimming Centre; the Quarry Fitness and Swimming Centre; Whitchurch Swimming Centre; and Shrewsbury Sports Village and Indoor Bowls Hall.
Serco and Shropshire Community Leisure Trust were named as preferred bidders in April, with the contract including an option to extend by five years subject to performance.
