12 Jul 2012 Leeds City Council to discuss Yorkshire CCC loan extension BY Pete Hayman |
Leeds City Council (LCC) is to discuss the possibility of extending the terms of an existing £9m loan to Yorkshire County Cricket Club (YCCC) - due to be repaid by April 2020. The funding was agreed by the local authority in December 2005 to help the club secure the freehold to Headingley cricket ground, which was a condition of it being able to host international matches. YCCC has now approached LCC with a view to extending the length of time in which it has to repay the loan, which also helped fund the construction of Headingley's Carnegie Pavilion. LCC executive board members will consider the request on 18 July. Details: www.leeds.gov.uk Close Window |
