Arts Council England confirms 12 People's Record funding recipients
BY Pete Hayman

Arts Council England (ACE) has announced that 12 projects are to receive funding through the People's Record in order to chart the public response to hosting the 2012 Games.

The initiative was first launched in 2008 and has funded 82 community projects. Five of the latest recipients are new projects, while seven will build on previous work.

Between June and October, successful applicants in the latest funding round will work with communities to explore the themes of sport and fitness through the Games among others.

ACE director of libraries Nicky Morgan said: "People's Record gives communities the opportunity to openly and honestly explore the impact that the 2012 Games have on their everyday lives."
