Plans submitted for transformation of Bournemouth's Waterfront site

Bournemouth Borough Council (BBC) has submitted its plans for the transformation of the Dorset town's Waterfront site into a new outdoor events arena.
The development will replace the current IMAX building, with the venue to host a number of cultural performances and sporting events. Seasonal activities are also proposed.
If planning permission is approved, it is anticipated the outdoor events arena will open ahead of summer 2013. Work to "de-construct" the IMAX building will start this autumn.
BBC leader John Beesley said: "The results of the public consultation show that there is public support for the creation of an outdoor events arena."
