Both venues are currently owned and managed by Scarborough Borough Council (SBC), which had initiated a tender process last year to find a management company to take over the two venues. Subject to contracts being formalised, SIV will enter into a 10-year agreement to run the two venues and the Scarborough Spa Cliff Lift on a 50/50 profit share basis. The partnership is expected to begin formally this October. In the first year of the partnership, SIV has already pledged to invest more than £700,000 in refurbishment work at the two venues. It comes after SBC completed a £6.5m redevelopment of Scarborough Spa last year. Close Window |
