A public consultation has taken place in order to receive ideas and comments from members of the public towards the Australian Heritage Strategy. The strategy is being prepared in consultation with all state and territory governments across the country, as well as key stakeholder groups from the public and private sectors. Federal environment department spokesperson Alison Stone said; "The strategy will provide the chance to re-energise our interest in heritage. "It is important that the strategy captures views held at a community level, as stories of where we come from and provides us with context about where we are going."
