02 Aug 2012 Euromillions winners donate £130,000 to Beacon Arts Centre BY Tom Walker |
Beacon Arts Centre, currently under construction in Greenock, Scotland, has received an unexpected financial boost from Euromillions winners Chris and Colin Weir. The Weirs, who became Europe's biggest-ever lottery winners when they won the £161m jackpot in July 2011, have handed a cheque for £130,000 over to the new venue's operator, Greenock Arts Guild. The LDN Architects-designed Beacon Arts Centre is on course to open later this year and will replace Greenock Arts Guild Theatre, which has been operating for more than 60 years. Close Window |
