New owners for Gloucester Ski and Snowboard Centre

Gloucester Sport and Leisure (GSL) has acquired Gloucester Ski and Snowboard Centre and announced ambitious plans to develop the site over the coming months.

GSL is owned by local entrepreneur Mark Hamilton-Davies, who said improvements would include a new, larger slope and a new retail offer. He said: "We want to improve and modernise the site by extending the main run to 250m (820ft).

"With the new extended slope due to be completed by the end of September, it won't be long before we see significant improvements to the facilities here. I'm sure that this will also help promote snowsports within the region."

The snowsports venue in Matson, Gloucester, was put on the market by previous owner Jupiter Hotels in April. The centre has now been acquired fully by GLS – a joint venture between Hamilton Davies' OpalTec International and two other shareholders.
