09 Aug 2012 £7m mixed-use Glossop project reaches milestone BY Tom Walker |
A £7m retail and leisure project to revitalise the prominent Howard Town Mill site in Glossop town centre has reached a milestone. The 62-bedroom Travelodge hotel which will operate on the site is now taking bookings while a number of leisure tenants - which include pub operator Wetherspoons and Domino's Pizza - have confirmed their opening dates for October and November. The opening of the Howard Town Mill site is the first phase of a larger regeneration of Glossop town centre. High Peak District Council is currently considering expressions of interest from developers bidding to transform the neighbouring eight-and-a-half acre Woods Mill into a multi-million pound scheme including leisure and retail.
