16 Aug 2012 New consultation into functions of Welsh natural resources agency BY Pete Hayman |
Welsh environment minister John Griffiths has launched an eight-week public consultation into the proposed powers and functions of a new natural resources agency. The body will become fully operational on 1 April 2013, replacing the Environment Agency Wales; the Forestry Commission for Wales and the Countryside Commission for Wales. It is hoped the new organisation will ensure the more sustainable and effective management of natural resources across Wales, delivering up to £158m worth of benefits before costs.
